Another Sunday of fun run, this time the only catch is, I didn’t run again, I just took photos of the event and thanks to Wacky Ocampo for inviting me to help her in the documentation. Rain or shine as the true blood athletes must say, around a thousand runners participated in the fun run activity today at UPLB Baker Grounds to celebrate PhilRice’s 25th Anniversary. I came around __ am not knowing if the rain would stop, hoping to take photos with a brighter background. Good thing the sky was cleared just before the program started. It was very relieving to see a lot of familiar faces as participants from Letran Calamba were of a large number; around 290 runners were instructors and the rest were
The activity was part of the Rice Awareness Month wherein runners were asked to pledge their support in saving and giving importance to rice as Filipinos’ main food staple. This, I think, apart from the cool drizzle rain effect to running, added “spice” to the activity’s commitment to rice awareness advocacy. In addition to that, what makes the run more fun and attractive was the fact that the runners would be running alongside rice fields, which makes it closer to nature (not like the runs conducted in Manila) and actually have the “feel” of how rice is meticulously farmed.
The Run 4 Ur Rice Fun Run is just one of the many runs being conducted in the Philippines nowadays. But what makes it different is that the theme is actually brought nearer to you..in a much greener way.
The AMA Computer University main campus in Quezon City invited Mozilla Philippines at their “WEB & IT SUMMIT 2010: IO Your Info World Wide” The WEB & IT SUMMIT was an event that started last year (2009) by WebGeek Ph together with AMA IT Society of AMA Computer University during the AMA Foundation Week. Now on its second year, Mozilla Philippines is so glad to be part of the event. Our talk was attended by a hundred college students in a small room.
We started by showing a short movie clip of 5 years of Mozilla Firefox and discussed how it resurrected the web in the early browser war of the 90’s. Then the reasons why they should choose Firefox being a open source project with all its goodness like security, speed and customizations. We give away some Mozilla goodies like button pins and T-shirt as prizes for the participants. I got to be in charge documenting our talk so you can find other photos in my flickr account. One of our mission is to promote the Tagalog version of Firefox. A big emphasis is cited on encouraging everyone to participate in the Firefox localization efforts in the Philippines. Ending the event with our recruitment for the local community here in the Philippines through our website Mozilla Philippines.
In behalf of the Mozilla Philippines community, me and Ren Ren Gabas is thankful to the organizers for having us in the event. We’re looking forward to establish Mozilla Student Reps in AMA University with the help of WEB & IT SUMMIT. In our own small contributions may we find fulfillment for a better web experience.
Everyone is trying to be fit the healthy way but the most important and apparently the easiest way is the hardest to start! Staying at the office day in and day out five to six times a week stacking up carbs and stress to boot somewhat becomes a routine. Then, opportunity to starting a workout opens up but eventually will not work out in the end just like a romance cliché. Well, at least it does sounds like one. But anyone can run and have fun even if you are not with somebody at all. But not as fun if doing it involves thousands more! Nobody does it best like a Run Rio event.
So I decided to register to a 5K run for the experience and bought some sweet equipment and gears. With all the glorious prep and hype running out of slots is the last thing on my mind but yes, I ran out of slots. I found myself getting started in regaining my health back the epic way. Dragged a bunch of friends of mine and thinking that there will be a hell lot of a running.
It was 3am and we’re all in our sweatshirts and had an hour drive from SLEX to Fort Bonifacio. It was still dark when we arrived and setup for the day.
*This will be a long post I will update this later meanwhile check the photos in flickr.
Yeah! I know what your thinking about this post. what?, of course it’s a car show but am not really into cars (evil laugh) I’m more interested with the hot babes. An opportunity for photographers; 4 day car show from November 18 – 21, 2010 at the SMX Convention Center, beside SM Mall of Asia.
Nuffnang and Head & Shoulders bring the World’s No. 1 boxing fight Superwelter8 at homestead Cuneta Astrodome: Pacquiao vs Margarito. November 14th the day the world will watch.
I could still remember that epic date March 14th as I watched Pacquiao vs Clottey fight in Pay Per View. People were frantically fanatic as if they’re on the ring side with the champ himself. There were cheering with rave delight and awesomeness together with friends and strangers alike. It’s a good thing I use the world’s #1 shampoo as well because amidst the crowd, it can get sticky! It gets as personal as it was a communal experience. Filipino pride rose as the anthem wallows in the crowd of people standing and giving salute to the nation and Pacquiao represents it with all glory.
The pound-for-pound king bust anyone who would come his way just like H&S would remove all dandruffs and scalp problems all over across the world.
I Support Manny Pacquiao, the World’s #1 Boxer, just like Head & Shoulders, the World’s #1 Shampoo! Because I am Pinoy! And I am proud to represent with a cool head brought by the H&S.
